Comment on Rockies, Michael Cuddyer agree on 3-year, $35.1 million deal (Denver Post)
I like this signing, HOWEVER, O’Dowd may have overpaid to get this guy…
I guess we will have to wait and see how it works out. IF Cuddyer gives them
20-25 bombs this season, and 100+ ribbies, than it was a good move. BUT if
Cuddyer underperforms and the Rox miss the playoffs again, then you have to
question the signing…
I do agree that the Rox need clubhouse leadership, and Cuddyer is supposed to
be that type of guy, so perhaps part of his value will be linked to
leadership. But will it be enough?
One final question….IF Cuddyer underachieves, than don’t you HAVE to
question O’Dowd’s job security??? If I were one of the Monfort brothers, I
sure would…
It is going to be a VERY interesting season for the Rox. I will be rooting for
them and wish them success…
