Number 3 rap musician of the decade is Eminem. This white artist from the streets of Detroit was regarded as very controversial by many critics. Eminem is discovered by Dr.Dre and his first album Slim Shady LP was awarded the 2000 Grammy award for best rap album. His song “My Name Is” was selected for the best rap solo performance at the 2000 Grammy Awards.
Number four gangster rap designer is 50 cent. 50 cent rose to popularity after being shot nine times in the city of Queens, New York. This rap artist is probably the most popular artists of the decade. He is not just a rap artist but a business owner as well. He has his own clothing line and has starred in his hit movie, which was called after his first album, “Get Rich Or Die Tryin”. The fifth hip hop musician is T.I. He started his rapping career at age seven and was signed to Arista Records when he was just a teenager. In 2008 His album, “Paper Trail”, went double platinum selling over 2,000,000 copies globally. He has also played roles in the movies like “ATL” and “American Gangster”. T.I. is also known to many as “The King Of The South”.
Number 6 rap artist is The Game. The Game was originally signed to Aftermath Entertainment, but soon left after a dispute with 50 cent. The Game’s album LAX was first shown at number two on Billboard 200. The Game also starred in films such as “Street Kings” and “Waist Deep”. Rapper Young Jeezy is the number 7 hip hop performer. Young Jeezy is a member of the rap group USDA and a former member of Boys N Da Hood. Young Jeezy’s first solo album Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 debuted at number two selling 172,000 copies in its very first week.
Ludacris is the number eight among all the hip hop artists. Ludacris is the highest-selling southern single hip hop musician of all time averaging over 17 million units sold in the US, and 24 million sold worldwide. He is also the co-founder of Disturbing The Peace label. Number nine hip hop musician is Gucci Mane. Gucci Mane is the CEO of So Icy Entertainment. He has created hit Street Rap tracks like “Wasted” feat, Plies and “So Icy” feat. Ultimately, the number ten gangster rap artist is Soulja Boy Tell’ Em. Soulja Boy has been chosen for many awards such as hit song “Crank That Soulja Boy” in 2008 at the Grammy Awards. He has also been nominated for the best new musician at the 2007 BET awards.
