If you know the causes of pimples, you can better understand the treatment of teen acne problems. When we think of teens, we think of acne. The causes of acne can be related to being a teenager, such as raging hormones and puberty. However, some causes are related to gender, genetics, and skin type.
1. Washing your face 2 or three times a day helps control oil that can cause acne. Soap containing salicylic acid controls acne by exfoliating the top skin layer. Though precautionary measurements can’t prevent teen acne problems completely, it can make a real difference in the number of children suffering from this skin problem.
2. Hormones can contribute highly to acne surges. For boys in the puberty stage, testosterone surges can causes increased oil production, therefore, increasing the likelihood of acne. For young girls, the hormones surges are the same but the hormone that causes acne is different. Some forms of birth control have been proven successful in decreasing acne in females. Young men may need to wash their faces more than once a day to control the acne caused by hormones and puberty.
3. Teen acne problems occur more often than most other forms of acne, in any other stage of life. It is a period in human development where frequent changes happen to the body, especially in case of gender related developments. When children are about to reach maturity, hormonal production, that is often related to gender, can also create an increase in the possibility of having problems; it is one among the major reasons behind teen acne problems.
4. Oil blotters and mattifiers are a great way to take care of excess oil on the face cosmetically. However, they also control excess oil by removing it from the face, preventing blocked pores. These items are becoming more popular and can be used frequently through out the day with out smudging make-up.
5. The best treatment for pimple spots is a benzoyl peroxide cream. While salicylic acid exfoliates the skin, benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria that rises up from the blocked pores. This cream can be very drying to the skin, so it is not recommended to be used all over the face every day.
6. Exposure to some of the harmful chemicals having toxic effects or intake of some medicines having very dangerous side effects though they may be helpful for some other diseases will also act as reasons for teen acne problems, though the level of intensity may vary.
